Nicely citrusy and fresh take on classical male perfume. Great for Spring and Summer, something you'd wear on the beach or to go grab drinks with friends or on a daytime date, perfect for a sunny and calm morning. Very "Call Me By Your Name" feeling. The look and feel of the bottle, makes it feel like its a Sporty Winter scent, its not. Very Fresh, very (light) green scent but not earthy. Its defiantly more of an outdoor scent, for spring and daytime use. Longevity 6.5/10 - Projection 5/10 Overall 6.5/10 I find this scent to remind me pretty much of my layering club de nuit intense and Tres Nuit the GIT clone the biggest difference is the violet is a little stronger in the mix and the spice is a little more then the Libre. Try the layer if you have those clones! IMO this has one of the best fresh openings in the fragrances world, but it fades quickly into a boring dry down that's very typical and disappointing.. If only that opening could last for long it would have been ground breaking. Super energetic and very fresh spicy profile. Has a similar violet note to Fahrenheit which gives it some classic masculinity on this otherwise light and airy scent. However this is a much more modern and less brash fragrance than Fahrenheit, besides the violet note theres no real similarities. Great anis that is well blended and gives it a nice touch. YSL L´Homme DNA can be sensed in the backbone of L´Homme Libre but this is probably one of the most distinct flankers. It also has some "blue" characteristics but the uses of the spice notes and the vetiver / patchouli base notes brings it further into the herbal field during dry down. I do not love the opening to be honest as it is quite a pink pepper blast. But that intensity is soon replaced by a greatly balanced and invigorating fragrance.
