Amouage should have called this beauty "Perfection". My fav scent of all time First wear, so, as with all Amouage fragrances you want to dance with it a few times before you judge its character. BUT, the pink pepper opens most prominently for me-- sharp and warm. Like the first ray of sunshine beaming through the blinds in the morning. Bright but comfortingly warm. Then the white florals in the middle are like the freshly laundered bedsheets that inevitably envelope you back to sleep. After the drier sheets from heaven have settled in for a few hours, the creamy and sweet base of sandalwood, cedar, and patchouli carry the ultra clean, yet wildflower-esque heart for hours and hours. As with most Middle Eastern freshies, it's just luxury laundry detergent, but still, every one of them is worth it and will have me smelling my skin and clothes until I wash the scent out. This projects confidence but not in a flashy way. Office and date friendly, but too understated for clubbing. Its a beautiful and versatile perfume, and a big love from me. Full retail is a bit much but some respectable online retailers provide decent pricing from time to time. 5/5 Got a sample to try. The opening has a smell that i both hate and enjoy. I can smell the rosemary, jasmine, petitgrain. Something in the opening though has a mothball like smell. I cant unsmell it. Like a pot of jasmine and petitgrain with mothballs. It smmells floral but stale and the stale powdery mothball smell is prominent. Could be the orris root. The drydown almost has a sweet menthol wintergreen vibe. Perharps the Neroli and jasmine and orris combo. The later drydown smells very similar to Armaf Tres Nuit, a Green Irish Tweed dupe. Its a violet lavendar smell, ehich neither is listed, again coule be the orris root. I finally aftee about an hour am enjoying the smell. If you enjoy that, then get Armaf and save money big time. I dont smell patchouli in the base. I get a mix of sandalwood a veey soft vetiver. On plus side, the smell is organic, smooth. Nothing smells overtly synthetic. Its smooth, not in your face, no sharpness, all rounded and balanced. Just not a scent for me. Honestly its the first Amouage ive tried and im not impressed in the least. Its not the worst smelling perfume but i couldnt imagine wearing it....
