I find Blv Absolute a bit lighter in character than original Blv (which I love), still with the recognizable DNA, but with a zestier citrus punch at the start (which fades quickly), and an added herbal note- a bit like marjoram and carrot-seeds. It doesn't have the "heft" of the four, main Blv fragrances, but it does create an interesting "gauze" around you, so I suspect that Blv Absolute might be a Jacques Cavallier creation (as are Blv II and Eau d'Ete), as he is known for these lighter, summer fragrances that focus upon head-space- rather than Morillas. My opinion? It's nice, but I'll probably wear it a couple times to be sure over the next year, and then finish off the bottle or maybe I'll sell it. It's not one I'd re-buy. I was lucky to score mine on an auction that closed at an odd time, after watching for about 2 years. If you are truly curious, and trying to collect the Bvlgari Blvs... I would simply keep your eyes open for a good deal, rather than opt for one of the over-priced listings. Gorgeous BLV Absolute is! So delicious. Beautiful gentle, lightly spicy delicate floral, which lasts and lasts, and has a lovely soft gentle projection. It's a soft, sweet, very wonderful blue perfume - the bottle is divine. I love it, it's totally charming and elegant. Blv Absolute is a nice perfume, reminiscent of the original Bvlgari Blv but not as well executed. It has a moderate projection and moderate longevity. It was a limited edition and very pleasant but it just isn't worth the prices people ask for it online now it's discontinued and rare. The bottle's pretty and the scent is nice but it didn't really add anything to the Blv range at the time, I feel, and surely the point of flankers is to add something to the range? Blv Notte did this very well two years later. I'm certainly not discouraging you from buying it, but it you have the original then you don't really need this unless you have a penchant for the bottle (which is a lovely piece of design). For me the smell is basically ginger over musk and then a touch of flax and iris. Pleasant but nothing special. I have both the BLV and BLV Absolute. Both perfumes are discontinued, and BLV absolute is rarer. However, while the BLV original has more notes, but it is very similar to BLV Absolute. Therefore, on ebay the original BLV is available.
