October 2021 I bought this perfume years ago, just because it was on sale, but i actually never used it, neither any of the Parisienne line. Funny, how when Parisienne line was still available for purchase, i actually overlooked it and was never bothered, yet now, when it is not available anymore i suddenly realize it was not that bad as i thought it would be and i start to appreciate the whole Parisienne line more and more. My favorite ones are EDP and L´extreme. I had high hopes for this L ´essentiel version, since i really like the bottle (the most beautiful of them all from the whole line), but it seems like it won´t be my favorite. What i hoped would be an even more extreme version of L´extreme version, turned out to be quite different take on original. I am not sure how a vinyl note should smell like, but i do think L´essentiel smells quite plastic and artificial. The berries smell synthetic and (i guess) the vinyl note smells to me as a mix of leather and jam, which gives a weird vibe to the whole composition. It smells bit suffocation and even dusty for the first 30mins, then the "vinyl" note becomes less pronounced. I am actually very distracted by the opening and cannot fully appreciate the beauty of the composition because of that. Someone wrote a comment that it smells like a toilet, and i actually agree, that it has that very synthetic toilet aromatizer feel to it, soemthing that they sometimes use in urinal. I know it is weird, but once you smell it you cannot overlook it anymore. I think it smells like a women´s toilet room in a club, when all the sweat, air freshener, perfumes and smell of makeup/power/lipsticks is mixed together, that is how i see it. I am not bashing it, it is not bad, but it is too strange for me. I will stick to regular EDP and Extreme versions, but still will keep this for now, to try to wear it more.
