A fabulously generous Fragrantician sent me a full bottle of this along with a full bottle of another "classic" from the nineties, in addition to the decants we had agreed to swap originally. So I basically received it as a gift, something I cherish and can only say thank you, BB! This is the real deal Paris, Paris as it was meant to be before reformulations. I am a sucker for rose and violet lipstick scents, and consider Paris to be the grandame of them all, though I'm sure there were others the preceded her. Yes, it's definitely of it's time. Though this came out in 2007, it was done so in honor of the original, and honor it it does. The label may claim EDT, but this is as potent an EDT as you will ever find. This is a one spray between the breasts, or two light sprays on each wrist type of scent. Actually, it would also work well with a "walk through" application. Longevity is 8 to 10 hours on my skin. It appears that many people consider this a spring or even - gasp - summer fragrance. I can't even begin to imagine it except for coolish evenings. To my nose, this requires some brisk, cool air to cut through the density. I never wore this when it first came on the scene, but chances are good that I wouldn't have thought twice about lavishing myself with multiple sprays on a hot and muggy day in New York City. Back then, I did just that with Amarige, Coco, and other powerhouses. I even wore Opium in the summertime! Tastes and styles change, and mine did as well, which is why I do recommend restraint. It's still a beautiful fragrance, but far removed from what is considered in vogue at the present time. So again, I thank you, Fragrantica friend, for your generosity. I treasure it all the more because of that. What can I say that hasn't been said already?? If you adore roses and violets, this is your parfum. It never lets up, from the initial burst of bright orchestration of roses, roses, roses, and violets, violets, violets...it builds to a beautiful crescendo!...and 10 hours later it is still there, vibrating in the air. Next morning, apres shower, it lingers still... What an incredible fragrance... One of my favorites!!! Nuit de Fete is a vibrant bouquet of roses and violets. I am often attracted to unusual and daring combinations but in this scent I love and appreciate the traditional interpretation of these two beautiful flowers....
