I love a fragrance that takes a note I associate with one season and makes it work in another. Eternal Roots does that with lychee. Usually a warm weather note to me, here it opens juicy and slightly tart before giving way to suede, labdanum, woods and a restrained birch smoke. The smoke isn't incense-like or resinous; it's more of a subtle woody ember that gives the composition an autumnal character without overpowering the fruit. The chypre quality adds depth, and I appreciate how distinctive profile is. I can't think of others I'd directly compare it to. My biggest complaint is projection and longevity. For a bi-phase, oil-based fragrance, I expected more. Still, I enjoy it! It's a juicy note dressed for autumn, with just enough woody smoke to make the transformation work. Window2Soul's sexier, more feminine sister. Very sultry, a bit heavy. I do enjoy this more than Window2Soul because of the lychee, but the two share a very similar DNA. Both smell very vintage on me, which I don't love. I could see this being very alluring on someone else, especially on a date night. This is great for the girls who love a unisex fragrance. This was my scent of the night and it was heavenly while I was tipsy off a glass of red wine. Camo pants, boots, leather jackets and a western gothic atmosphere. It’s slightly smoky, fruity, romantic, and perfectly unisex. It starts off heavy on the “cologne” aspect, but it warms up so nicely on the skin and becomes a soft woody berry scent. I love it during the day, but this performs best in the evenings. I think it would be the perfect date night scent.
