But there is not a single thing outstanding about this fragrance. Although, I think it'd be a good layering fragrance. But otherwise, this by itself is pretty mid. 4/10 I really enjoyed this one. I was looking for an aquatic, fresh, masculine-leaning scent for my partner to complement a deodorant that he wears that we both already like. Marine is the right word for it. I understand the comparisons to a detergent, but I guess I like that scent? It is more complex than soapy, it feels deeper and warmer than the simplicity of detergent scents. Its lasts nicely, I wore it and was able to enjoy it for an entire evening (maybe 5, 6 hours?). I don't know if I would spring for a larger bottle but will enjoy connecting with the sample I have. Alright. Phu Quoc, I understand why people say cleaning detergent. But its not that bad. It was actually good. It does but it has a deeper green vegetal fragrance like capsicum. When spraying it had 4 hours of wear close to skin but I really enjoyed finding the capsicum smell layered in a citrus forward scent. I kept smelling. There's something about D'annam's citrus scents that remind me far too much of general household cleaner, particularly lime. I had the same reaction to Monsoon Tea. I don't know what it is about it. The oceanic notes in this make the scent very fresh, and it dries down to quite comforting amber. But the top notes are just not for me. Fragrantica and its AI slop is getting worse. The notes are, per the d'Annam discovery set: Top: Green Peppercorn, Citrus, Galbanum Heart: Oceanic Notes, Muguet, Orange Flower Base: Cedarwood, Amber, Vetiver. Note: green peppercorn has nothing to do with bell pepper - they are from completely different plant orders. (Edit: I see they've actually corrected the notes now).
