This smells like a haughty equestrienne from years past romping with her young groom, the smell of her jasmine perfume, leather boots and freshly cleaned saddle mixed with his hair dressing, soap and clean sweat. A far preferable option to me than Cuir de Russie, Diorling is somewhat richer and cleaner smelling, plus the longevity and sillage are excellent. I wish brands would stop that nonsense notes trimming. Diorling is NOT limited to those 3 notes you can see in the pyramid. It's so complex, I have been wearing it for 3 days now and keep finding something new! It opens with peppery nasturtium, citrus, leather and aldehydes! Salty-sweet leather? Or is it salty jasmine? I get whiffs of lily of the valley from diorissimo and slightly inebriated melons of diorama. Further it changes completely into leather and rose and powdery iris. Soft, sweet, but somehow 3-dimensional butter soft leather. The latest stage of the dry down is made of a watercolour moss, hazy and lightweight. Classic composition with clear stages of development. I think Dior did a fantastic job at resurrecting their beloved classics, and Diorling is no exception. This scent is a jasmine and leather combination to die for, a scent which seems as though it was scent down from heaven itself. I am yet to experience the original formulation of Diorling unfortunately, but I can only imagine how stunning it is. As is frequent in contemporary marketing, the notes are very much trimmed ...
