I get so many compliments about how good I smell when I wear it, even one time at the gym. This. Perfume. LASTS. You spray it on clothes? You’ll smell it on them for days. The scent is so beautifully complex and seductive, and one bottle lasts me about a year with every day use. The price point is definitely on the higher end, but I find it to be absolutely worth it. The only warning I would give is that it is a heavier perfume, so it’s easy to go overboard if you use more than three sprays. But I love love love love love this perfume and it will be my number one forever. I have all the formulas of this perfume (all because I wanted to understand: which is the most beautiful version). All the perfumes were purchased new, in shrink wrap, in the smallest bottle sizes. The first formula is from 2002. The 2010 version (there are differences, as there was a reformulation between 2002 and 2012). The 2012 version, which is the one being discussed here. And the 2014 version. Having collected all the formulas, I figured out which is my favorite - the 2012 version (even though in perfume circles it’s often criticized and considered the least successful). This is a truly enveloping, languid, luxurious, non-edible vanilla (I consider it the best among the vanillas in my collection). This perfume has no contradictions, unlike other Addicts (and that’s what I love about it). In some versions, the smokiness and intensity bothered me; in others, the flowers were overwhelming - almost making my throat itch (possibly jasmine, or maybe even real moss). But this version - from beginning to end - is perfect for me, so much that inhaling it makes me want to roll my eyes in delight. If my Addicts were sweaters: 2002 - a 100% mohair bright sweater, with different colors and lurex, two sizes too big. 2012 - a cream-colored sweater made of 100% cashmere. 2014 - a black sweater (with a high collar) made of wool, with a small amount of synthetic fibers that dull the prickliness of the natural wool.
