I was able to grab this for just under $50 before the holidays, and it is a stunningly beautiful fragrance. It smells like how you always imagined Christmas would be. There is a radiating, soft, regal warmth to it. However, I can't imagine wearing it to work or on a night out. This is definitely for special occasions. Now this is a Niiicee one...slightly better then Bel Ami (current version). While both very good fragrances, Vetiver gets the plus imo, though similar. While having Bel Ami vintage shaker, Bel Ami and Bel Ami Vetiver current, i could Say that even there are similar, the vintage is more raw and leathery, while the current one and vetiver are more polished and refined. More modern but in the Best way posible. I could not make a top, every one of these 3 gives Something special for the wearer. Maybe a plus for Vetiver, i don't know. It seems that You could still fiind great fragrances even now in current times, Bel Ami and Vetiver are both in that category. Kudos for Hermes which is one of the few houses that still put great products on the market, which is flooded with generic crapy sweet one dimensional fragrances. Wearing today after long time. Carnation was the dominant note for my nose from a 5 ml sample of Bel Ami Vetiver by Hermes. The Carnation was there from that start and remained prominent into the dry down. The other notes of Leather, Elemi, Vetiver, Amber, etc. are supporting notes. I concur with usas, "Should have been named Bel Ami Carnation!" #12 on my Fragrance Review Journey This replaced Bond No 9 Lafayette Street as my signature scent. This is magnificently blended. My favorite vetiver scent. I like it more than Guerlain and Tom Ford. The performance is wonderful. 8-9 hours on my skin and all day long on clothing. Projection of about 3 feet with a gracious scent trail. The drydown is my favorite. For some reason it reminds me of the drydown of Black Orchid. Sophisticated fragrance that deserves to be in your lineup. If you enjoy vetiver you will love this. 10/10 I have profound love for the notes of vetiver, leather, cardamom, styrax labdanum and elemi in fragrances and this fragrance has all these notes plus civet (this doesn’t smell animalic), carnation and Iris. All of these notes are very close to my heart. Needless to say, BelAmi Vetiver is one of my abso...
