Un Jardin Sur Le Toit by Hermès is a Aromatic Fruity fragrance for women and men. Un Jardin Sur Le Toit was launched in 2011. The nose behind this fragrance is Jean-Claude Ellena. Hermes launches the fourth fragrance from the collection of garden-inspired fragrances Un Jardin, named Un Jardin Sur Le Toit or “A Garden on the Roof” in 2011. Un Jardin Sur Le Toit refers to the especially luxurious garden located on the Hermes’ headquarters building roof at 24 Rue Faubourg Saint-Honore in Paris. The garden is full of aromatic herbs, flowers, and fruits whose flavors vary as they pass through the metamorphosis induced by the seasons. Its fresh and sweet-smelling atmosphere is captured by apple, pear, rose, green grass, basil, magnolia, and compost notes. I absolutely love the notes combination, i.e., green, floral, fruity. This is the most spirited "Garden" from Hermès, inspired by the secret orchard atop the Paris headquarters. It’s not just a fragrance; it’s a celebration of life in the heart of the city. The opening is breathtaking—a "moist, earthy atmosphere" that captures the scent of wet soil and lush plants right after being watered. Unlike the earlier gardens, the way the fruits are woven into the "green" is exceptionally seamless. As it settles, the Rose adds a layer of sophisticated, airy transparency. What makes this scent truly special is how it layers these diverse impressions: the gentle fruity presence, the noble floral clarity, and the grounded mossy air. It evokes a hidden rooftop sanctuary where nature feels vivid and happy. A beautifully refined, urban citrus-floral for those who appreciate the "subtle happiness" of nature within a sophisticated cityscape. Communicates being outside in the sun, eating fresh things from the earth. Smells tart, crisp, and slightly like mango. I see a crescendo when I wear it. Reminds me mostly of the very hot French girl who stayed with my family for a cultural exchange during the summer I turned 13. I would say this is more of a fruity apple fragrance with green notes. I think a stronger rosemary note would be a great addition. The scent of grass...
