This is bright, clean, and refreshing. This fragrance line is excellent. The 5th chapter of the Hermès Garden collection. Jean-Claude Ellena’s masterpiece translates the serene elements of a Chinese garden: the scent of a pond, jasmine, bamboo, and wet stones. The fragrance opens with the gentle, bittersweet juiciness of Kumquat, paired with a bright, popping Grapefruit that brings a positive, refreshing start. As it develops, the combination of Green notes and Hedione creates a crisp atmosphere, evoking the sensation of a "cool breeze passing through a bamboo forest." Beyond this lush greenery, a transparent and deep Jasmine emerges. Super citrusy and fresh. A bit bitter green, a bit like a grapefruit (I guess it's the kumquat, but never smelled that one before). I do not get the mint. Jasmine is there, but it is unexpectedly soft and so nicely blended. Wore this in moderate weather and also in humid, tropical hot climate and worked wonderfully, even in the heat. And unlike so many other citrusy fragrances, this one does not remind you of cleaning products. Very nicely done!
