I really liked this perfume initially, but now unsure if it suits me. Still have nearly full bottle and if anyone in EU would be interested - pm me This is truly special and it wasn't even like at first for me. I had to come back to it years later to understand. May sound strange but I imagine this is what Tolkien's elves would wear/smell like (sindar elves specifically), beautiful, ethereal but cold and distant, as is this scent in a way. Every time I smell this Lothlórien materializes before me. I enjoy wearing Gentiane Blanche most when it rains, that's when the incense thrives and dampness brings the flowers to life. It isn't for everyone I suppose, as bitter and earthy fragrances are not, but if you do like that type of composition (L'orphaline and Encre Noire seem like Gentian's relatives) you would appreciate this. Balanced to perfection. Love the green, vegetal, jalapeno opening on this. As others have commented, it does become dry and bitter but it's very refined. This is actually extremely similar to the opening in Wreckless Leather which I love, but is lacking that fragrance's relentless and challenging drydown which has kept me from purchasing. This is one of my all-time favorites. IMO the color of the bottle represents the olfactory experience perfectly. It’s a green-incense-musk fragrance that I think is great for spring and into summer. This smells very good and it is similar to Grey Flannel but it is so incredibly weak! I sprayed it on my hand and shirt three times in half an hour to even understand what it is. It is the weakest of all in this series that I have smelt so far. The colour of the bottle hints the smell: grey! Which is very good. But it's like a grey of a morning mist vapour or something else that elusive. Grey Flannel seems to be like pure perfume version of this, something like 70% strength vs 10% strength. 5 points for the smell itself but overall 4 because of weakness. I am wearing this and was legitimately shocked when I logged in to fragrantica and saw the accord breakdown and ratings on this. I am getting a deep, bitter root here. I can't quite place it, but it is the sense perception of biting into something vegetable too under-ripe bitter to eat, and spitting it out. Bitter, bitter, bitter. I don't find the scent bad, per se, but it is a challenging concept as a personal fragrance. I don't think I can quite pull it off. I imagine wearing this you would smell like something...
