I finally got my hands on a bottle of this from Facebook Marketplace of all places, full presentation. I tried it years ago and it left an extremely memorable impression. The fact that this was designer perfumery in the late 90s is crazy. This could easily be a niche scent or something from TF Private Blend. It combines a few different elements. There is, of course, a very aromatic, fougere-like aspect to it which immediately brings Chanel Antaeus to mind. In fact, the overall impression is sort of like a modernized Chanel Antaeus. Bracing florals, citrus, and aromatics dominate the top, while the mid becomes soapier and cleaner with a marked lavender note as well as some carnation. However, the dominating character is the thick leathery base, which does, in fact, bring to mind Bvlgari Black, though it is less rubbery and powdery and has more of a "rawhide" vibe. I also definitely detect the tonka, but is nothing like a modern day tonka note. Overall, it smells dark, classy, and extremely sophisticated. It is by far my favorite from the Jeans line, and much, much better in my opinion than Blue Jeans. It has also aged very well. While I think Blue Jeans smells quite dated, I think Black Jeans still smells relatively modern, albeit I would recommend it mostly to guys 30+. It's also not what I would characterize as a casual scent - it definitely is giving me more of a formal, night out vibe in a black suit or a black leather jacket. It would be perfect for a date night in cold weather. Overall, I'm very pleased with having found this and will gladly wear the hell out of it. Would I pay $300+ for it? I'm not so sure...but I think it is absolutely a worthwhile scent to seek out for ~$100 or so. I can see why it is discontinued. Recently acquired a full presentation bottle for around 20 USD. Yeah, I know, way below the prices in ebay which reach almost 200 USD. That is absurd considering the scent profile. First sniff reminded me of Fahrenheit. This is in the same family as Lomani pour Homme, Drakkar Noir, Fahrenheit etc. Those 80's type powerhouse masculine scents.
