Pure Poison Elixir by Dior is a Floral fragrance for women. Pure Poison Elixir was launched in 2006. Top notes are Jasmine, Mandarin Orange, Petitgrain and Bergamot; middle notes are African Orange Flower and Gardenia; base notes are Cacao, Vanille and Amber. This mesmerizing and magical fragrance achieved the status of Elixir. Floral and intoxicating, Pure Poison became warmer, softer and gentler. Its floral bouquet is embellished by powdery, sweet, spicy and almond nuances. A spray-bulb bottle echoes the retro style glamour. The opening is sparkling and incisive, thanks to petitgrain and green mandarin orange followed by an intoxicating note of orange blossom and Sambac jasmine, with their gently sweet aromas. The ending is powdery and rich due to sandalwood, bitter-sweet almond, vanilla and cocoa bean absolute. Perfume was created in 2006. Read more about Dior Pure Poison from 2004. For so long I wanted to get my hands on this perfume. It is a timeless enigmatic beauty. I’ve recently rediscovered my obsession for Pure Poison. After tracking down a few bottles of the original formulation with the white cap, I knew I had to get the Elixir next. I owned a bottle of this when I was working for Dior in the 2000’s. I remembered it being much more floral, however now I find the cocoa and vanilla notes to really be the star. My bottle has macerated a lot (the juice has turned a darker color), so maybe that made the gourmand notes stand out more. I actually find the cocoa and vanilla give it a bit of a tropical vibe. Like a cocoa butter lotion mixed with the floral notes, as opposed to a chocolate vibe from the cocoa. Projection and longevity are average, but I can’t stop sniffing my arms! Will definitely be buying a backup bottle. A beautiful scent. Jasmine, vanilla, cocoa and amber is what I notice best. I wanted to get some Dior Poison perfums into my collection. I love Hypnotic Poison EDT, as, to me, it is a very long lasting heavy perfume. So I expected someting in the lines of this. How wrong I was... None of them are heavy, at all. They are quite subtle and the Pure Poison I could hardly notice. But then... I got used to them and my nose started to get adjusted! I now have Poison Girl EDT, Pure Poison Elixer and Hypnotic EDP (which is a lot soffter than the EDT, how weird) and I can notice them almost all day long. I had the same experience with Guerlain Insolence. At the beginning I hardly noticed it but by now I love it as well and it keeps on lingering all day long, as well. So now I actually am part of the family of people who love Dior Poison. ...
